  2. [S51] Westmoreland Order Book (1705-1721), p.354, court of 27 Aug 1718 includes a reference to "Samuel Dishmen junr." He is most likely the oldest son of Samuel and Cornelia Dishman.
  3. [S33] Assumptions: Samuel Jr. is assumed to be the first born son since he was named after his father. A Westmoreland court judged a slave owned by Samuel Jr to be 7 yrs old on 27 Aug 1718. If we assume Samuel had to be 21 to own property, then he was born before August 1697.
  4. [S10] Samuel Dishman will (1726) Deeds & Wills No. 8, 1723 - 1738, page 84, son Samuel Jr. is not mentioned so is assumed to be deceased prior to 1726 when will was written.
  5. [S51] Westmoreland Order Book (1705-1721), p.354, court of 27 Aug 1718 includes a reference to "Samuel Dishmen junr.", indicating he was living in 1718.
